Test Guidelines
Written response test (WRT) consists of 5 thematic sections (tasks).
Practical and Mapping Exercise (PME) includes data collection (from maps, satellite images, other resources), its further analysis and mapmaking elements.
Multimedia test consists of 40 multiple choice questions supported by various graphical resources.

The thematic content of the tasks is based on the principle of covering a wide range of geographical fields.

All tasks may relate to the following areas of geographical knowledge:
  • landscapes
  • geomorphology
  • сlimate and climate change
  • hydrology and oceanology
  • natural resources and resource management
  • natural hazards
  • human geography
  • urban geography
  • environment studies and sustainable development
  • cultural geography and tourism

Required skills (especially for Practical and Mapping Exercise):
  • Mapping skills
  • Inquiry skills (including statistical data)
  • Graphic skills (read, analyse and interpret images, photos, graphs)
  • Remote sensing skills (work with satellite imagery: interpretation, analysis, comparison)
